i was wondering if its posible to share the audio output in linux, without using kde. what i mean is to play music in xmms and to have the sounds from gaim work at the same time. remember, i use a windowmanager, and dont plan on using some bloated desktopenviro. thanks
All I had to do to allow multiple apps to use sounds at the same time was create a file called .asoundrc with the contents below, and make sure everything was told to use ALSA (Gaim needs to be set to use the command "aplay %s" for this)
sorry for not giving enough info, its funny because im scolding people for not giving info either. but yeah , its ac97 based. but there isnt any kind of software mixing or something like arts?
