Mark threads as answered

Sometimes, when I browse the forums, I look for threads with zero replies, to see if I have an answer, but sometimes, threads are not answered even after a reply. This creates a couple of problems: 1)open questions may not get looked at because someone else has already posted a reply, which may not give the answer needed by the seeker, 2) someone that knows a potential answer may not post it for fear of precluding the question from being looked at by someone who may be more sure of an answer. Both of these scenarios result in a longer time between the question submittal and a workable answer being posted. I have seen this implemented in the Gentoo forums, and it seems, to me, to be a more efficient way of directing those who would give an answer, rather than just looking for threads with zero replies. This is of course assuming that such a thing would provide a value exceeding the cost (not necessarily monetary) of implementation.

This has been asked a few times, if you search this forum you'll see the reasons why it hasn;t be implemented.

This very forum, the Website Suggestions and Feedback had this functionality, in which no one ever used. So why implement something that will never get used or very rarely used?
