NTFS RPM for those with Fedora and linuxant kernels
Hi folks,
Using the instructions that the developer put together, I have compiled an rpm for the latest Fedora Core 3 kernel. This is for those wanting ntfs access on their system - which doesnt come as standard with Fedora due to patent issues - and use the 16k stack size kernels kindly provided by linuxant to get over driver resource issues.
I thought about it but as its not essential for the running of ndiswrapper I decided against it. Figured if David Ross - who I think mods this subforum - wanted to sticky it he would. Maybe better in the Fedora forum - whaddya think?
I guess I'm for a sticky either place. Here is probably a bit more appropriate. I just see so many people with Fedora having trouble with wireless that I hate to lose track of a good idea. Of course you could probably add this to a tutorial. That would do the same thing.
This isnt a larger kernel, just one that has been recompiled to allow windows drivers that are wrapped to provide wireless networking to be able to run. Standard Fedora kernels only have 4k memory stacks whereas Linuxant recompile with 16k. Only use the Linuxant kernel if you are having problems getting wireless drivers to load using ndiswrapper or driverloader. Check out my bookmarks for more info.
Regards
Chris
