Please post each issue once and in the appropriate forum. The other post is here. I'll be responding to that one.

on giving mozilla & it gives as [1] 23724.. hey i am a new bee.. wats this... still my browser is not working
The command:
Code:
mozilla &
tells the shell to start the mozilla process in the background. The shell then tells you the background process number for that shell (1 in this case) followed by the system's process ID (23724) which is basically just a serial number unique to all processes on the system.

See the bash manpage for more information
Code:
man bash
I suggest that you try starting mozilla without the ampusand (&), and see if the process is crashing (control returns to the shell) or locking up (the shell sits there for a while).

You should also make sure that you're running the latest version of Mozilla; upgrade if necessary. Do you have this problem with any other applications, and are there any error messages given or messages logged in /var/log/messages?
