TAO and DAO cd writing?

I know TAO=track at once and DAO=disc at once...They both work for audio CDs making me confused about the difference. Which one is recommended for audio tracks? Does TAO just leave 2 sec gaps?

Well if no one is going to answer here's my half-assed two cents. I have never had a problem with TAO and I believe it's the default cdrecord uses if you don't specify otherwise. Also, you can pad your tracks with any length of silence you want.
man cdrecord
