/dev/cdrom is a symbolic link to something along the lines of /dev/hdb or /dev/hdc etc... One way to pin point what your other drive is, as root, pipe the output of dmesg to more or less and just filter through the contents till you find it.

Code:
dmesg | less
Once that is done, and you have found it, and are sure it is your other cdrom drive, you can create another symbolic link in /dev for the future.

As root:
Code:
cd /dev
ln -s /dev/name_of_cdrom /dev/cdrom2
This will now make a sym link (short cut) named /dev/cdrom2 which now links to your 2nd cdrom drive.

All you need to do now is edit your /etc/fstab and add the /dev/cdrom2 entry in. Just copy the /dev/cdrom one that is in there now and change the values.

Good Luck
Kristijan

Thank goodness it was the CD reader that wasn't listed, because had it been the writer you'd have to deal with the fact of an emulated SCSI device....

Well unless you use kernel 2.6.x, with ide-cdrom...rather than IDE emulation.

Angry 2 hd's on 1 ide, can't find 2nd ??? help!!!

ok, i just hooked up a second hard drive, to the same ribbon as the first, and it says its there, like when u hit the tab button @ boot up, (by the way i'm running '00 pro) it recognizes it down to what brand it is, but when i boot up windows & go in to my computer, it's nowhere to be found. wtf is that !?! it seems like basically the same prob. as here, but with different hardware, but i really dont understand computer mumbo-jumbo enough to get anything from that. can anybody help me ???
