Can't get supermount working

Running Slackware 9.1 with kernel 2.4.22. I patched the source just fine (no errors), and compiled it into the kernel as a module (from make menuconfig under "Filesystems").

When I do a modprobe supermount I get this error:

Quote:
bash-2.05b# modprobe supermount
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/fs/supermount/supermount.o: unresolved symbol do_remount_sb
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/fs/supermount/supermount.o: unresolved symbol do_kern_mount
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/fs/supermount/supermount.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/fs/supermount/supermount.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/fs/supermount/supermount.o: insmod supermount failed
bash-2.05b#
I searched google and this forum for some clues as to what all that means, though I didn't come up with anything. Did I compile something wrong? I'm positive I used the correct patch for my kernel version.

Question

Run "uname -a" and report that. I'm having similar problem with a tainted kernel module (vpnclient from Cisco). If in fact the kernel you are running and the module you built are the same kernel, you may have to rework the module code to stop relying on symbols no longer exported.

The output of "uname -a" is:

Quote:
[ slackbox ] > uname -a
Linux slackware 2.4.22 #6 Tue Sep 2 17:43:01 PDT 2003 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux

Supermount does'nt work like that. Compile it into the kernel and then modify your /etc/fstab to suit.

Here's my fstab, should give you enough to modify your own.
/dev/hdb1 / reiserfs defaults 1 1
/dev/hdb2 swap swap 0 0
/dev/hdb3 /home reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c vfat defaults,umask=000 1 0
floppy /mnt/floppy supermount fs=vfat,dev=/dev/fd0,--,rw,codepage=437,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
dvd /mnt/dvd supermount fs=iso9660,dev=/dev/dvd,--,ro,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
cdrw /mnt/cdrw supermount fs=iso9660,dev=/dev/cdrw,--,ro,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0

I tried the things you mentioned in fstab, but I'm still not getting anything. I'll do some more research I guess...
