setting up linux to use nis information

I have two sun nis servers in my environment. My nis domain is "lab".

1) Create/Edit /etc/yp.conf
-----
domain lab server asterix.eng.collation.net
domain lab server idefix.lab.collation.net
-----

2) Make sure the client starts on reboot:
# chkconfig ypbind on

3) Make sure domainname will be set on reboot:
# echo "NISDOMAIN=lab" >>/etc/sysconfig/network

4) Edit /etc/nsswitch.conf and make sure that nis is specified for
all services that you want... Mine looks like this:
----
passwd: files nis
shadow: files nis
group: files nis
hosts: files dns
bootparams: files
ethers: files
netmasks: files nis
networks: files nis
protocols: files nis
rpc: files nis
services: files nis
netgroup: files nis
publickey: files nis
automount: files nis
aliases: files nis
----

5) reboot
(Ok, you don't have to reboot, but otherwise, you'll need to set the nis domain, then
start ypbind)

You said you already had sun nis servers. The steps I gave need to be run on the linux boxes - and I'm only sure they work on redhat/fedora.
