Connecting to the net (rtfm prone)

I have cable internet through adapter which goes into usb port.

In Windows it says I'm using these network adapters:

Accton USB 10/100 Series Adapter
SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter

Any ideas how to get internet up and running on linux.

According to the usbmgr,
The Accton USB 10/100 Series Adapter uses pegasus kernel module. Which in fact seem to support a device called by that name (I haven't seen the output of lsusb, but if it is 0x083a:0x1046, then we are talking of the same device.)

The other device seems to be an other network adapter (probably integrated to the motherboard), and can be used by loading a sis900 kernel module.

If you have homePNA, you might have to pass a parameter "mii_mode=1" to the pegasus -module. Also you might want to install the usbmgr package to have your device autodetected.
