Help - SuSE cannot detect my hard drive (kernel 2.6.22)
OpenSuSE 10.3 (kernel version 2.6.22.1) installer cannot detect any hard drive installed.
I also tried to upgrade from a working kernel (version 2.6.16) to 2.6.22. After my system rebooted, the hard drive cannot be found. The error message shows: resume device /dev/sda5 not found (ignoring)
waiting for device /dev/sda6 to appear:..not found
However, the new kernel is supposed to support the southbridge SB600. And the new kernel works fine w/ Intel platforms, including the Bearlake.
I wonder if a driver is needed when installing the new kernel 2.6.22?
10.3 is now in beta mode, but it still is experimental. if you want a running os you should try opensuse 10.2 or wait until 10.3 is the new official release in october, most probably... it would help if you could send your findings to opensuse to improve the 10.3 version..
