Integrated mail server

Dear all:

Need some help.
I am using sendmail as a mail server with dovecot as pop.
Is this combination is well enough to support around 500 users?
Please let me know.

You should be fine, even if you add a couple of zeros at the end. The software will scale, but do you have the resources to support it?

But make your life easy, and use WEBMIN to administer the server.

And if you can, get MRTG on the server, and run mrtg-mailstats to monitor performance of the sendmail server.

You'll see how it's going, and what the probs are as they arise
