mutiple network configurations for eth0

I am using Debain on a laptop and one item I miss from my Thinkpad is access connections that would allow me to maintain multiple network configurations. Right now I have juggle the configurations in my interfaces file for eth0.

Is there a way to name configurations in the interfaces file so when I do the ifup command I can specify the proper configuration? What I am looking for is something simple:

ifup Home - Static Address
ifup Office - DHCP with Proxy
ifup Hotel - DHCP

Thanks

On redhat,
i can do the same with
Code:
cp /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/home
ifdown eth0
ipup home
or if you want to maintain both up at a same time, modify the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/home with DEVICE=eth0:1

Amit's idea should work. But if you need to change things like nameservers, it'll be a little trickier. Windows also has this problem which is solvable by applications such as Toshiba's ConfigFree (other laptop vendors have similar applications). This article might help you out:
