Can a custom resolution of 1200x900 be used for Radeon?

Hi all,

I'm using slackware 10.2 w/2.6.10 kernel and latest ATI drivers.

I really miss the 4:3 aspect ratio of 1200x900 that I used to use in windows for this card on my 19" monitor. Can this be done?

My monitor can do horizontal: 50-90 and vertical of 50-160 and is 19" on diagonal NEC and the video card is Radeon 9600xt built by ATI.

Thank you.

You could try using "gtf 1200 900 <refresh rate> -x" to generate a modeline to use in your xorg.conf setup.

OMG OMG OMG You are my hero ! Thank you so much.

Just in case anyone finds this post in a search, as a result of jschiwal's suggestion to me, my xorg.conf has this now:

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "aticonfig Monitor 0"
HorizSync 31.5 - 90.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 160.0
# 1200x900 @ 85.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 80.33 kHz; pclk: 131.09 MHz
Modeline "1200x900_85.00" 131.09 1200 1288 1416 1632 900 901 904 945 -HSync +Vsync
EndSection
