Well, you're not exactly compelled to read the thread But I don't see why the thread would make you less likely to pay. I guess out of spite (because some other people said it's a good thing to do), but to me donating is just a personal choice that concerns the individual and the Slackware team.

1. People join this free forum for a reason.
2. 9 times out of 10. It is to learn something new.
3. People pay good money to learn something.
4. People pay good money for a helping hand.

I cannot see what the problemo with this is?

I am very grateful this forum exists and folks like minded like me like to help out and teach others.

I learn a lot from this place. In 2008. I turned on my 1st computer. It's all been downhill since then thanks to this forum.
