How do I add root certificates to the Konqueror certificate store?

How do I add root certificates to the Konqueror certificate store?
Note: I'm not running KDE, so I've tried running systemsettings, but don't see any crypto settings there. SSL Preferences -> add allows me to select a .pem file, but then nothing happens.
