Of all portables my Laptop is the strongest tool; but Desktop is always the best for everything: wired data networking, hacking, compiling, printing, publishing and all, --not mentioning the less onerous security tasks.
While I do have and use a laptop, Chromebook, Netbook, Android tablet, and Android phone, I still spend most of my computing time behind my main desktop. I don't see that changing in the near future (5-10 years).

I've always found it more useful to be in front of the computer I'm using, but each to their own!
