Can't send files to trash

I can not delete files in a directory.

Either trying to delete one or all gives this message...

Code:
Unable to create trashing info file. Permission denied.
I can not delete any files in any directory...what the heck is going on ?

I have read/write permissions.

I CAN delete files on another drive.

Hi:

Since your getting permission denied; I'm thinking that 'trash' is owned by root.
Maybe change permissions on your trash bin or try using nautilus.

Here's a few answers here:

Hope that helps.

But I deleted the Trash dir.

Now I can delete files again.

You're Welcome-
Always glad to help.

Like you,I too have experienced some unexplained mysteries running Linux over the years.
The funny thing is when those bizarre things occurred I honestly don't know what I did to get rid of them. The good news is most went away on their own.
