This pop up box keeps occuring with each bootup.

you installed something which requires a configured download dir. I do not know if you need that software or not...

Ubuntu has some klunky ways of installing software.

I understand that it is supposed to be able to use .deb packages, but some of them did not run nor did they make any menu entry.

But I like Ubuntu.

My webcam which did not record audio on other distros, did work though the volume is really low on playback.

configured files for incoming files does not exitst (ubuntu 16.04 mate linux)

Ubuntu 16.04. 64bit/mate/. In my case I have renamed my main computer user, so after the old home directory was removed I got this message.
Quote:
configured files for incoming files does not exitst ubuntu
I created my old directory again
/sudo mkdir home/oldname/.
Then I was able to issue the the problem in application. I renamed the path to the new existing Download directory. And again I deleted the directory.
sudo rm -rf oldname/

I edited the issue in the application with command blueman-services
I have changed local services/Transfer
