Is cheese on XFCE OK?

Thinking to create a script to monitor motion in apartment.
Do not have cheese installed on this XFCE spin of Fed 23 but as it is claimed to be a Gnome application wondering if it works on XFCE?

I haven't tested this, but, if you install Cheese using the Fedora package manager, the package manager should install any required dependencies, so, yes, it should work.

I've used Cheese in many desktops including XFCE, works great.

Have you seen Zoneminder or I think VLC has this too?

Or 'motion', which is designed specifically for the task.
