Question I'm unable to install Ubiquity on Ubuntu Mini 15.10 ISO

I've been experimenting with the Ubuntu Mini 15.10 ISO in VirtualBox. Everything goes well until I try to install Ubiquity. When I try to, I get an error stating that initramfs cannot update due to the ISO being run as live media.

How do I overcome this? Do I use AUFS? If so, are there any quick guides to using it in a VirtualBox environment? Do I use some other piece of software?

Help would be appreciated.

Edit: I only booted the ISO.

Please provide more information. For example, have you installed Ubuntu Mini into VirtualBox or are you just booted to the *.iso? The way your question is framed leads me to think you are just booted to the *.iso.

You might want to take a look at this: http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...Ask_a_Question

I think you will have to actually install the OS in the VM before you can add software.

I haven't tested this, but my understanding is that Ubuntu Mini is designed for installing a minimal Ubuntu, not for running in persistent mode. Even were it designed for running in persistent mode, I don't think you can install software to an *.iso, as an *.iso is a single file, not a file system; it just looks like a file system when you boot it.

As I understand persistent mode, you need someplace outside of the *.iso to receive saved data, but I haven't worked with persistent mode very much.

Hmm, alright then. Thank you.
