Ubuntu Black Screen on Boot
When ever I boot into Ubuntu 15.04, I get a black screen and can only get around it by adding nomodeset command to the linux grub line on the selection screen (selected "e" to modify every time). I tried changing from the Nouveau driver to the NVIDIA "proprietary, tested" with no success. I just get the 5 "loading" dots without the Ubuntu logo, then my monitor goes blank and into powersave mode, I can't even bring up a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1 to -F3). I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed at this point, being a Linux noob.
