installing Google earth Debian8

trying to install GE on my laptop with Debian8 installed.

Receiving following error with Synaptic:

PHP Code:
googleearth:

Dependslsb-core but it is not going to be installed
 Depends
ia32-libs  but it is not installable
I thought Synaptics will automatically install any dependencies.

I believe that at least part of the answer is in this thread:

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...zy-4175469584/

Obviously though that thread is for Debian Wheezy, not Jessie so there are some differences.

My plain answer is that synaptic will not always handle installing all dependencies or software you select. You will have to troubleshoot software installations from time to time with your package manager and what dependencies are installed. There is no catch all 'easy' button.

I thought that the 64 bit version no longer had that dependency? I don't ahve it installed though because it never fails to crash on my regularly on either of my systems. Either way, the only way to install is, as the thread linked to above suggests, create a custom .deb file prior to install.
I can't find the guide I used as I forgot what I googled for but something like this ought to help:
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=35136
Create a new .deb file with the dependency removed and install it.
