Python 2.7.3 on debian wheezy...cant upgrade to 3

hi guys,

why does idle say python 2.7.3 on my debian wheezy netbook?
i have run sudo apt-get install python3 and it installed
yet when i look in idle it says python 2.7.3
i am reading a python book which is dealing with 3...and some
syntax is not working in 2.7.3
i tried sudo apt-get remove python, python3, and idel
then tried installing python 3 and idle
yet when i open idle it still says python 2.7.3

any ideas on how i can get python 3 running?

First see if python is correctly installed.

Code:
which python
This displays something like /usr/bin/python

Then do:
Code:
file /usr/bin/python
It should show the synlink to the executable

See if python3 is installed:
Code:
which python3
or
/usr/bin/python3
Did you install idle3? I can imagine that idle2.7 uses python2.7 and idle3 uses python3.
Find out about idle3 in the same way as you did for python3.

BTW your spelling is very sloppy. I hope you are more accurate on your computer.
