Found a bug in Chromium browser in Jessie

1. open chromium, browse to any website the displays graphics

2. right click on an image file and select "Save image as" and chromium will crash (it happened while trying to save several different images from different websites)

3. not sure where to file a bug report but someone upstream more connected to debian development should look in to this

been a long time since i logged in to LinuxQuestions i am glad my account is still on file

I can't replicate it on Sid with Chromium version 35.0.1916.153 so either they've fixed it already or it's a problem with your system.

273 thanks, i deleted ~/.cache and ~/.config and lots of other old stuff in ~/ and it cleared it up, chromium is working good now, i hate to do it because i lose browser passwords and stuff like that but sometimes i just gotta bite the bullet and do it anyway

Next time something like that happens, you may want to try to deactivate the extensions, and try to single out some that may be causing the problem (in that case would likely be some image-related extension, I guess). And you could probably also just save the files where password and other stuff are stored. I'm not sure it will necessarily work, sometimes the file is bound to some sort of "registry" of that set of user files/user profile. If that's the case then perhaps the other way around would work, deleting/moving away stuff from the profile folder.

It's faster if you have some clue of what files you need to save or what files are likely causing the problem, though. Otherwise it may be preferable to just start over, even if no backup of things like passwords is possible.
