force reinstall/reconfigure of broken packages in debian (exim) [SOLVED]

I need to reinstall exim4-daemon-heavy on my system, and reinstall the files in /etc/exim4 (witch i presume are in exim4-base/exim4-config ?),
however apt-get refuses with the following errors:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

is there any way I can force dpkg to reconfigure all this stuff?

Figured out a solution

apt-get --purge remove exim4 exim4-base exim4-config exim4-daemon-heavy
apt-get install exim4-daemon-heavy

Looks like there's some problem with exim4-base; maybe a bug in its post-install script, or maybe the package is just broken. Not sure whether this will work, but you could try to purge all exim4-* packages and install them again. To purge them, execute this command:

Code:
apt-get purge exim4-base exim4-config [and so on with the other packages]
Then reinstall them as you usually do (apt-get/synaptic, etc).

You beat me to it. Glad you got it working.
