linux wi-fi setup.
I have recently decided to upgrade my laptop to linux. I thought the 2 that best met my needs were Ubuntu and Mint. I set-up both for usb stick boot. They both worked fine until I tried to setup wi-fi.I have checked numerous site trying to find help. They will mostly make it sound easy, but no go. I have tried several but I don't even get radio icon. In answer to the question that will be asked yes I tried fn/f2 keys with no success
By the way the distros were 13.04 for Ubuntu and 15 for mint.
I have a dell latitude with broadcom bcm4318 chipset. I would hate to go back to Xp but have no other options since I only have wireless access for my laptop. It worked fine on XP but I get absolutely no respose on either distro. Any help would be appreciated
