That is what I did to get
around trying to manually getting the hotkeys to work to dim the screen.
I have a little red bulb in my taskbars/slits that I can toggle redshift on and off with.
It is pretty nice once you get it setup. I never heard about redshift till the other forum member
mentioned it and then I was lassoed into showing how to get it to work in our Window Managers and
I also have it running in Mate Desktop in Mint. I do not use Gnome 3 or Gnome Panels or Ubuntu 12.04 though so
you are on your own on that.
