Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Epson Printers XP-300

I am exploring the trashing of this HP Deskjet 1000 and found the Epson XP-300. While checking on it on the web I see they supply (unsupported) drivers for both the printer and the scanner under Linux. They seem proud to do this based on their company web site is used to provide very easy lookup for Linux drivers.
Am wondering how others may have found this Epson product?
