su: cannot set user id: Resource temporarily unavailable


We have linux rac db server. till date we are able to connect with grid user on both the node . But now on node 1 it is giving error ,even switching through root user .
# su - grid
su: cannot set user id: Resource temporarily unavailable

Please suggest.

also edit title ( !Urgent ) and get moved to appropriate forum

I changed limit.conf file but till i am getting below error.
su: cannot set user id: Resource temporarily unavailable

Please suggest ASAP

and what in the limit.conf did you change to what?

and please be careful with the demands you are making

I tried all the threads, but till i am not able to login with grid user.

Till I am getting same error. Please any update on above error.
