Switching from Ubuntu Server (12.04 LTE) to Debian.

Hi guys. I'm running a 64bit Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTE at home with apace2, ssh, rtorrent and storage disks encrypted with LUKS.

I'm thinking of switching to Debian stable and as far as i know every processes i use should work just fine since Ubuntu is based on Debian.

The question marks starts to appear when thinking of my storage solution. Will it work to install cryptsetup under debian and open my disks?

And are there any thing else i should consider before switching?

One thing to consider is that Ubuntu 12.04 will be supported through April 2017, while the current Debian Stable has perhaps "only" 12-18 months of support left.

Thank you for that input but i'll cross t hat bridge when getting to it. I guess Debian will get a update with longer support?

My question was if i'll be able to open my encrypted drives in Debian?
