Install RecordMyDesktop, record the slideshow, convert it to *.avi with mencoder or ffmpeg, then upload the *.avi.

RecordMyDesktop is in the Ubuntu repos. You will likely need to install lame and possibly jack (if there's audio), which are also in the repos, if you don't already have them installed.

you can use the terminal program GMic
put the photos in a folder
input the file list with a pause and output to a .mpg

http://www.openoffice.org/product/impress.html

Alternatively, use Impress's built-in ability to create Flash (.swf) versions of your presentations.

Thanks, Jefro. I don't do many slideshows, so I didn't know they had implemented that.

georgecyros, good job to figure that out yourself.

You'll probably have a little learning curve, but, once you get the hang of it, it's pretty straightforward. And RecordMyDesktop is a very useful program to know.

Why didn't you stop at step one and save as a flash?

Hi Jefro, the openoffice Presentation, I have is version 3.2 and I couldn't see any flash format to save. Is't newer versions have the flash format? George
