Slow HDMI response


Hi,

I'm running Mint 14 XFCE on my desktop that has i think an Intel HD 2500 Graphics card. I use my Toshiba HDTV as my monitor and plug it via hdmi. That's fine and it displays ok but if it goes to sleep or when i log out to go to the login screen or even when it starts up it seems to take about 15-20 seconds to respond and show the screen. Any ideas how i fix it?

P.S once i got the windows driver installed it works fine with my win7 dual-boot so i don't know if there is a way to configure the windows driver to work or to manually configure the OpenGL driver.

Hi,

Look at: '/var/log/Xorg.0.log' to see what is happening. You may find some leads to a solution.

Hi mate,

Cheers but what line should i be looking at to see if there is an issue? Theres loads lol to which most looks like informational purposes. Here it's here attached if you can help me out on this one.

I would be looking at the TV/Monitor for specifications to setup proper modelines for the monitor section for the TOS Model: 2237 Serial#: 16843009 so you can setup proper xorg.conf modelines. It seems you are using 'Output HDMI2 connected', try using 'HDMI1'. You can look at the 'Xorg.log to help track things to hopefully lead to a solution.

First save your 'xorg.conf' then you could switch to 'hdmi1' then do 'Xorg -configure';

When this option is specified, the Xorg server loads all video driver modules, probes for available hardware, and writes out an initial
xorg.conf(5) file based on what was detected. This option currently has some problems on some platforms, but in most cases it is a good way to
bootstrap the configuration process. This option is only available when the server is run as root (i.e, with real-uid 0).
See if your HDMI TV/monitor is setup properly in the monitor section of 'xorg.conf'.
