This is your profession? And your company is already running it's own name servers? Why aren't you asking these questiosn of your peers / superiors? Have you not documented any of your own IT systems??
I think you need to get to grips with the basics of Linux first. You do not appear to be at all ready to perform these tasks. Again, you say this is your work place? Is there really no one else you can ask who knows anything about Linux?
acid is right, but also you need to know where exactly the db file is, otherwise you will never do this right. Until now you showed only empty file or directories, which kind of says you don't know where they are (the configuration files) and maybe you should ask someone from you company to tell you. After that adding the MX entry is not really that hard.
