fail to connect nagios

I just added a few servers to nagios to monitor , all works fine to do monitoring but have one server pops the below error , I know all servers configuration should be the same , would advise how to fix the below error so that it can be run in nagios ? thanks



DISK_DATA ERROR: Description/Type table : No response from remote host '192.168.12.1'.

DISK_LOCAL ERROR: Description/Type table : No response from remote host '192.168.12.1'.

LOAD ERROR: Description/Type table : No response from remote host '192.168.12.1'.

You could check iptables on the remote host. For example, execute the following command on '192.168.12.1':

iptables -L -v

I have checked , no iptables policy is applied , would advise what is other possible reason ? thanks

is it due to the wrong server configuration ? please advise . thanks

Just because they should be the same doesn't mean they are the same, this should be the first thing you check. If you're using an extension to SNMP to check disks then ensure that it's working correctly on the server and that it's being exposed properly in the SNMPD config.

it is very useful suggestion , would advise except snmp that I need to start , what else service is also required to start ? thanks

I've no idea what else might need restarted, you don't provide any information on how the statistics are compiled on the server. Probably nothing.

Look at the check command / script / plugin in your nagios instance and run it manually against that host. Sometimes running the plugin manually may give you more information about why its not getting information from the host.

the SNMP is not started , I tried re-start it , but still not work .
From your reply , you said "being exposed properly in the SNMPD config" , what is that mean , what I need to do on it ? thanks advise.
