Madriva 2011 boots into tty1 after power cut

Hey guys, really need your help!

I've got Mandriva 2011 installed on my system, and everything was working fine up until I had a power cut about 15 minutes ago, and since then every time I boot my machine it goes straight to tty1 and I can't find a way to make it boot into the normal desktop mode.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Press Alt-Ctrl F7

When I press CTRL-ALT-F7 I just end up with the blinking white dash in the top left of the screen.

I would assume that something has been corrupted. Try running startx and post the errors if any.

Managed to sort it out, I unplugged and plugged back in again and it started working? Thanks for your time though guys, much appreciated!
