Application Containers

Been asked to look at Linux OS Sprawl. So, application containers seem the way to go, either appzero, virtuozo, or AIX workload partitions. Anyone other there do this?

- Adding some info, i guess i am asking what ya'll are doing out there to deal with OS sprawl? We moved about 1,000 of physical machines to VMs. Nice, but i still have lots to patch and deal with. If i could containerize (that a word?) the applications and have less OS images sort of "linked clone" type, this would reduce my maintenance. My boss is hot on AIX Workload partitions, i am thinking cGroups in RHEL, but looking for what others are doing. Of course, all the vendor stuff says theirs is the best way.
