Question Gateway VTX-400 extend battery life (Jupiter v. TLP)

I am using an old Gateway VTX-400 running Lubuntu 13.10. I ran 12.04 before and i really want to increase my battery life on this machine. The system says the battery would last around 2 hours. Is there any way to achieve this goal. I heard about Jupiter and TLP and wonder if one of these could work with this system. Any (better) suggestions?
