Just a fresh install of Slackware 14.0

Just came back to Linux after a few years hiatus. Last distro I used was Slackware 10.1 i believe. Just installed Slackware 14.0 on a IBM Lenovo R61 laptop recently, and have encountered a few unique issues. This laptop WILL NOT boot unless it's plugged in, but the bluetooth won't work. If I unplug after boot, the bluetooth instantly comes on. Weird, never heard of such a thing. Also, tried downloading and installing gkrellm, and ran into and error while running the make file. Totally unrelated to the previous issue, but while I'm posting, might as well mention it. Any help would be appreciated.

the bluetooth issue seems like a kernel bug, maybe testing a new kernel release would help. (-current).
the other thing need more details to help you out.

PD. there are gkrellm pkgs on pkgs.org

There are gkrellm packages that are part of Slackware 14.0; why aren't you simply using those?
