Fedora 18 - which command to stop acpid?

I need to know how to stop acpid in Fedora 18 like I managed to do in Mint 14 to achieve what is described here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...nd-4175453909/
The instructions for Fedora I found in some documentation linked there seem to be outdated so I discovered that other commands are suitable like sudo systemctl, service, chkconfig but none of them works in my system. For example:

Code:
sudo systemctl stop acpid.service
Failed to issue method call: Unit acpid.service not loaded.
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance.

Your suggestion is interesting but I would like to try with stopping the service first. I think there's a command for that. Indeed I found a suitable command in Mint.

pkill -9 acpid
or
sudo pkill -9 acpid
did not work.
I got no error but I think the service has another name in Fedora, maybe haldaemon but this could be outdated too, because of changes in Fedora 18.
I need to stop the "acpid service" in Fedora 18.
Does anybody know the command?

Does Fedora 18 not have a System Monitor or Activity Monitor or what Fedora 18 may call it
Than you can find out what is active or sleeping and how the names are of the processes
And kill the process you want to kill using the PID or name

It uses systemd

man systemd. man systemctl.

Be aware that in stopping acpi you could be stopping your fans, with problems for your cpu.
