Yes, I installed :ubuntu-12.04.2-desktop-i386 from the same webpage that you mention (http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/r...sktop-i386.iso). Is it the right OS (32-bit) ?

I am sure that the previous OS was removed successfully.

.. Then you should get the reply `i686` from the command $ uname -m
.. when you boot into the 32bits (i686) OS.

I delete ubuntu-12.04.2-desktop-i386, then I install it again but still I am getting the same result:

~$ uname -m
x86_64

What could be the problem???

* Note: I was using Ubuntu (64 bit)at the beginning, then I remove it and I install Ubuntu 32 bit.

http://releases.ubuntu.com/precise/u...sktop-i386.iso

... And then reinstall.
May be you used the wrong disk for the install ?
That's very easy to do. No difference anywhere in the installers,
32bits and 64bits.
