Ieee1394 not working

hi,

i've problem in using ieee1394 to grab video from camcoder with slackware but it was okay when i do the same thing on Arch Linux (on the same machine & 2.6.10 kernel) ..i try to compare the udev.rules and it seem both having the same rules for ieee1394

# raw devices
KERNEL="raw[0-9]*", NAME="raw/%k"

anything i missed out??

okay...i manage to make it works

add this script to /etc/udev/scripts/make_extra_nodes.sh

# Devices needed for raw1394:
if [ ! -r /dev/raw1394 ]; then
mknod -m 666 /dev/raw1394 c 171 0
fi

then

udevstart

make sure /dev/raw1394 exsist. if not restart you computer and check again for /dev/raw1394.

if /dev/raw1394 exsist,...plugin the camcoder and check dmesg & you should get these messages

ieee1394: Node added: ID:BUS[0-00:1023] GUID[08001f01003360ce]
ieee1394: Node changed: 0-00:1023 -> 0-01:1023
ieee1394: raw1394: /dev/raw1394 device initialized

then you can use dvgrab(or others) to grab video
