limewire installation problem


yes i have mandrake linux 10.0 i have java on my machine cuz i put in on here yesterday but yet i cant install limewire
this is what i get
[shortman1984@localhost shortman1984]$ ./LimeWireLinux.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. You must install a VM prior to
running this program.
[shortman1984@localhost shortman1984]$

You have to have java installed and it must be in your path. Locate the java binary which is probably in something like /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2_02/bin and put it in your path like this:

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2_02/bin

thanx man that worked perfectly........it wasnt in the exact same folder u said but i found out where it was and set the path to it like u said....thanx

I was having the exact same problem as above and I did what you said about export PATH and so on and now it says "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/zerog/lax/LAX" when I run the LimeWire.bin. What should I do?

i do have the same problem.
also trying to install limewire on a suse 9.1 desktop.
I use the following java RE:
java version "1.4.2_03"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_03-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_03-b02, mixed mode)
and it seems wo be working just fine (azureus a java .torrent client seems to be working just fine)
