Angry ATI - Serious Problem

I am running Mandrake 9.2 with the 2.4.22-19mdk Kernel

HAve a AMD AthlonXP 2.4ghz , 512mb RAm ,40gig HDD ,ATI RADEON 9600XT,
Hercules Game Theatre XP, bttv84 Tv card, And this is the bugger

the AGPGART source for the fglrx 3.7.0 ATI Drivers has no configuration listed in the motherboard detection section for my Motherboard witch is as follows....

Gigabyte GA-7VT600 1394

vith a VIA KT600 chipset in it. BUT THE ATI DRIVERS HAVE EVERY OTHER VIA UNDER THE SUN EXEPT MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This means when i have installed and configured my ATI using the module built from source, the fglrxconfig works perfect but when it loads X i get no 3D.

Can any one suggest any Kind of Remedy to this Problem

It would me much appreciated.

Had same prob . Here's what i did ste by step

(1) Install your kernel sources ( the file should be something like kernel-source-2.4.22-1mdk.i586.rpm , do a google search for it)

(2) cd to the directory u download it it

(3) su (- gain superuser rights)

(4) rpm -ivh --force kernel-source-2.4.22-1mdk.i586.rpm (this may take a little time, just wait!)

(5) cd to the directory where u have your 3.7.0 ati drivers

(6) rpm -ivh --force fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.7.0.i386.rpm

(7) cd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod

(8) ./make.sh

(9) cd ..

(10) ./make_install.sh

(11) type fglrxconfig to configure your card AND MAKE SURE WHEN IT ASKS U ABOUT AGPGART MODULE TO SAY YES

(12) reboot

(13) voila! Just to make make sure u have 3d accelaration run glxgears and c how the framerate goes

PS I have a p4 2,4 ghz overcloacked @ 3 ghz , 512 mb ram , and ati 9600 pro and i get a fps round 4800

Hope i helped!
