the 10GB harddrive is possibly not in a linux friendly format, it needs to be ext2, ext3 or reiserFS (basically) so yeah, if you have knoppix LiveCD, boot that and type knoppix 2 at the first prompt, then
cfdisk (and the drive, possibly /dev/hdb)
and see what type of partition it is.

As i remember it, it goes something like this, but i dont have a windows machine to hand to verify the boot.ini bit (havent done it for a while), but here we go.

Install Fedora.
Go to console, go su and type:
Code:
dd if=/dev/hda of=/root/boot-lin.bin bs=512 count=1
Now save boot-lin.bin to a floppy or usbdisk.
Install windows or resurrect the nt bootloader using xp cd recovery console.
Go into windows and copy the boot-lin.bin to c:\
Edit c:\boot.ini in notepad.
Add this line to it under [operating systems]:
Code:
c:\boot-lin.bin="Boot Linux"
Save the file.

Now next time you boot you can select Boot Linux, and it will start grub. Remove the grub entry for starting windows or you can cause a virtual loop problem if you're not careful.

If you search around on here and google it is possible to find guides on how to do this, and im sure others will chirp in if im wrong anywhere.
