GRUB bash-like interface configuration trouble

hi,

i had Windows XP and Linux Enterprise 4 ES installed on my computer.
i had 3 partitions on my XP(2 NTFS -> C drive and D drive, 1 FAT32 -> E drive). i wanted to merge D and E drives. so deleted the the E drive using windows disk manager and tried to redistribute free space to D drive using Partition Magic. but when i rebooted the system , my GRUB bootloader is not giving me any options instead -- its giving me a a BASH-like command prompt and i', unable to boot to any of my OPERATING systems. PLEASE HELP.

i read some reviews online and hence listing the responses below that i got from the system:

1. root (hd0,0)
Filesystem type unkown, partition type 0xde
2. root (hd0,1)
Filesystem type is fat, partition type 0xb
3. root (hd0,2)
Filesystem type unkown, partition type 0xf
4. root (hd0,3)
Error 22: No such partition
5. root (hd0,4)
Filesystem type unkown, partition type 0x7
6. root (hd0,5)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
7. root (hd0,6)
Filesystem type unkown, partition type 0x8e
8. root (hd0,7)
Error 22: No such partition

i also tried also to reinstall the GRUB loader, but it asked me as to where to reinstall -- at MBR or at the first sector of the disk partition. i chose the first sector of the disk partition. but nothing happened and the problem still remains.

PLEASE HELP !!! thanks in advance.

regards,
Vish.

Sorry I had to. They don't like you posting twice in two forums about the same thing around here. All you need to do is install to mbr, that is probably why you getting errors.
