checked the USRob. website, they have a few products matching this description, which would make finding a driver a little difficult.
The model # shoudl be printed on the modem itself, and will be in the syntax: USR5699B

What is the model number on the modem you have?

Win32sux -

I do not have the 5610B its what I want to get.

What Im asking, the current modem that Im using right now, will the rpm file work for my current modem?

Are you telling me I could download the file from the link you gave me without me having to go out and get the 5610B???

Well, do I have to buy another modem or I could just download the driver from that link?

dude, the driver i'm giving you is for the 5610B, the one you're thinking about getting...

you told me HERE that you are currently using a WINMODEM... you were told it wouldn't work several times... these drivers aren't for any winmodem.... the 5610B is a hardware-based modem, supported by linux...

I went to my Modem.log and all it says is the one below. Im not seeing Winmodem.

Modem type: Modem type: U.S. Robotics 56K Fax PCI

Do I download the rpm file onto Windows and open the file up in Linux to install the driver?

when you looked for your modem on the mandrake HCL, what information did you use to find it??

you DID post a link to a "Not Supported" USR Winmodem saying it's what you had...

Im stuck here.

I dont know what to do. Really.

Should I get this one
http://www.usr.com/support/product-t...asp?prod=5610b

To install the rpm driver, do I first download on my Windows, and then transfering it via a floppy onto the Linux?

BTW, that rpm file is for red hat.

If I get that one, will be really a need to download the linux drivers for it since it will work with Linux?

To install the rpm driver (just incase) do I first download on my Windows, and then transfering it via a floppy onto the Linux?

BTW, that rpm file is for red hat.
