Sound Card Quality Problem

HI BUDS

listen what my problem ...
i use now slackware 10 before the slack i use fedora core 2
and with fedora im not having this problem
my problem is that the quality of hearing is baddd .... very bad
without no quality at all ... my sound card is "Creative Live 5.1"
you know what the problem can you please help me ?
