Port 25 blocked by ISP - what now?

I'm visiting Estonia at the moment and it seems that often port 25 is blocked by default. So I'm not able to send E-Mails with my E-Mail client (Mutt/msmtp) anymore. I've searched a lot for solutions, but I only found some services you have to pay for port redirection. Does anyone know if there is another possibility to solve this issue?

many e-mail servers can alternatively be reached via port 587, it's worth a try.

Yep, this would work (Starman - The ISP recommends using gmail and on the support site I've found nothing about other E-Mail-Providers). Unforunately my E-Mail-Provider (arcor.de) has no support for 587 :-(

I red that I can use the ISP's smtp-server or socks server, but I have no clue how to do this. Networking was always my weakest part...

Use the smtp from the provider as a smart host.

Thank you! But what do I have to do for it? Sorry, but I really can't figure this out... Do I need to contact the ISP for that?
I've never done this, because it was never necessary...

Webmail is not really an option

Configure your MTA to use te SMTP from the provider as a smarthost.
You can call the ISP to find the SMTP server, or just look at their website.
For msmtp

Thanks! Now I get slowly an idea. I also use sendmail. Do have to do anything with this? I had a look into the sendmail.cf and the syntax looked pretty cryptic to me...

Thank you guys. I will use roundcube for the first. It's not for a long time though...
But anyway - This port blocking-thing sucks. Why do they pay for an Internet-Connection, when they can't use even the most basic programs?

Port 25 used to be abused (forwarding email spam) and blocking it was the ISP reaction...
Now abuse has gotten more sophisticated and blocking continues as an antiquated no longer useful defense.
It is annoying; I use a program that is hardwired to send email by port 25; needless to say that doesn't fly on Cox.

So.. I feel your pain, or something.
