Kuickshow or alternative image viewer

I really liked kuickshow image viewer program which was default earlier with kde. It is not there in ubuntu/kubuntu synaptic package managers now. I tried once to install from source in newer distros but there were a lot of missing libraries. Is it still possible to use it on newer distros?

Alternatively which other (not very bloated) image viewer would you recommend which can also do some image manipulation such as adjusting contrast and brightness?

If I remember correctly, there is no Kuickshow for KDE4. But you still can install Trinity (KDE 3.5.1x) and use Kuickshow.

I absolutely loved Kuickshow, but it required KDE and I got sick of KDE and I got sick of all applications that require that monstrous kitchen sink known as KDE, so I have been using just Openbox. And of course, I needed something to replace Kuickshow. I have these programs installed here:

- GpicView
- gThumb
- Geeqie
- Feh

Judging by convenience, I find GpicView to be the closest to Kuickshow. It is almost as good. None of the others is as good, I leave them installed just because.

I see you mentioned contrast and brightness, sorry, I couldn't find that in any of the programs I mentioned. So although I can't tell what program has what you want, I've already eliminated 4 for you that DON'T have what you want.
