showing error of ...........


while i installed rpm package its showing error of failed dependencies n in another case cant create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm_db.000

Please specify your distro & version; show the exact cmd you used and the exact msg received.

You don't give any useful information, like version/distro of Linux, what you typed in, or what you're trying to install, so it's hard for anyone to help you. However, are you running the RPM command as root, because you should, otherwise it'll fail.

Note also that rpm will often fail on dependencies; that's what up2date or yum are for.
